Due to numerous requests from our generous donors and the desperate need following the immense hardship the children of the North and East of Srilanka have faced, CORD Srilanka is setting up a child sponsorship program to go into effect from April 2010. The sponsorship will ensure that a child's basic educational supplies, uniforms and other requirements will be taken care of. CORD will also extend it to provide nutritional counseling, basic health screening, School admission, value based education and family counseling. Mothers will be encouraged to get involved in the women groups and microfinance program to improve their quality of lives.
